西村画廊では、定期的に個展を開催している７人の作家に、来年個展を開催予定の指田菜穂子を加えた8人の新作展“September 2010”を、9月7日(火）より10月16日(土）まで開催いたします。

押江千衣子は、今年9月18日(土)から10月24日(日)まで、京都市の京都芸術センターで開催されるグループ展「p a n o r a m a – すべてを見ながら、見ていない私たちへ – 」に参加します。来年の初夏には当画廊での約3年ぶりの個展を予定しています。押江は今回、ゴーヤの葉を題材にした30号のペインティングを発表します。

小林孝亘は、今年9月1日からのJR名古屋高島屋を皮切りに(7日まで)、高島屋東京店(9月29日～10月5日)、高島屋大阪店(12月15日～21日)と、各地の高島屋の美術画廊を巡回するグループ展「第三の絵画 -Third Painting-」に参加します。今回の展示では、今年9月に刊行される小林が挿絵を担当した絵本「でんきの でばん」(文 : 小野寺悦子)の原画(全16点)の中から1部を公開します。

指田菜穂子は、1983年埼玉県生まれ。昨年、東京大学大学院総合文化研究科を卒業しました。歴史的、心理的、あるいは映画や童話などの要素を題材に描かれる指田の細密画には、既存の絵画にはない深い洞察が感じられます。今回の展示では、ノヴァーリスの「青い花」を題材にした「あの花だけは」(2010)、芥川龍之介の「或阿呆の一生」を題材にした「この火花だけは」(2010)の2点を出品します。

曽谷朝絵は、今年10月に韓国ソウルのギャラリーで海外初の個展を予定しています。今回の展示では、「鳴る色」シリーズのペインティングとドローイングを5点発表します。「鳴る色」は、今年1月の資生堂ギャラリーでの個展で発表されたシリーズで、テーマは「色が奏でる音の反響」です。資生堂ギャラリーでの展示では、色とりどりに彩色され、波紋のような形に切り取られた様々な大きさのカッティングシートを組み合わせた大規模なインスタレーションによる発表でしたが、今回はそれを紙の上に表現したものを初めて展示します。

樋口佳絵は、今年9月18日から10月16日まで初の版画による個展をキドプレス(清澄白河)で、来年1月には当画廊での約２年ぶりの個展を予定しています。

舟越桂は、8月末まで開催中の金沢21世紀美術館でのヤン・ファーブルとの2人展「Alternative Humanities ～ 新たなる精神のかたち」につづいて、12月11日から来年2月13日まで熊本市現代美術館での個展、その後2011年秋には高知県香美市立美術館とロンドンのアネリー・ジュダ・ファイン・アートでの個展を控えるなど、今後も各地での活躍がつづきます。

町田久美は、今年11月に当画廊での約2年ぶりの個展、来年3月から6月にはニューヨークのジャパン・ソサエティーでのグループ展“BYE BYE KITTY!!!”への参加を予定しています。また、年末には初の作品集が青幻舎より刊行される予定です。

三沢厚彦は、現在鹿児島県霧島アートの森で開催中の個展(9月23日まで)に引きつづき、あいちトリエンナーレ2010 (8月21日～10月31日)への参加、ギャラリー・トラックス(山梨)での個展(10月30日～11月30日)、ギャラリーたむら(広島)での個展(12月)と、相変わらず各地での展覧会が目白押しです。

旺盛な活動を展開しつづける作家たちによる、意欲的な新作グループ展にどうぞご期待ください。

Nishimura Gallery is pleased to present “September Show 2010”, the exhibition of new works by the eight gallery artists, from Tuesday September 7th to Saturday October 16th.

Chieko Oshie shows a new painting of Go-ya in this exhibition. She will participate in the group exhibition at Kyoto Art Center from September 18 th to October 24 th. She will hold the solo exhibition at Nishimura Gallery next summer.

Takanobu Kobayashi shows some drawings of the illustrations for picture book”An Electric turn” . A touring group exhibition is holding at Takashimaya in Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka from September to December 2010.

Nahoko Sashida was born in 1983 in Saitama, graduated from the master’s course of The University of Tokyo. She shows 2 paintings on the novel of Novalis “Heinrich von Ofterdingen” and  Ryunosuke Akutagawa “Life of a fool”.

Asae Soya shows some works of a series of “Ringing”. She will hold first overseas solo exhibition at PYO Gallery in Seoul this year.

Kae Higuchi shows 2 paintings this exhibition.  Her solo exhibition will be held at Nishimura Gallery next January. Her prints exhibition will be held at KIDO Press from September 18 th to October 16 th.

Katsura Funakoshi’s solo exhibition will be held at Contemporary Art Museum, Kumamoto from December 11 th to February 13 th 2011 and at the Art Museum of Kami-city in Kochi and at Annely Juda Fine Art in London next autumn.

Kumi Machida will hold solo exhibition at Nishimura Gallery this autumn and participate in group exhibition”BYE BYE KITTY” of Japan Society in New York in 2011.  In addition, a book of her paintings will be published by Seigensha at the end of the year.

Atsuhiko Misawa’s solo exhibition is now showing at KIRISHIMA OPEN-AIR MUSEUM. He is participating “AICHI TRIENNALE 2010”. Solo exhibition will be held at Gallery Trax in Yamanashi from October 30 th to Novenber 30 th and at Gallery Tamura in Hiroshima December.
