西村画廊では、2018年7月10日(火)から9月8日(土)まで、グループ展「サマーショー2018」を開催します。押江千衣子、小林孝亘、指田菜穂子、曽谷朝絵、舟越桂、町田久美、三沢厚彦をはじめ、デイヴィッド・ホックニーやホルスト・アンテスなどの作品を展示します。

押江千衣子は、今年9月25日-10月27日に当画廊で約一年半振りとなる個展を開催予定です。今回のグループ展では、美濃加茂市民ミュージアム（岐阜県）のレジデンスプログラムで制作した2012年のペインティングを展示します。 小林孝亘は、犬を描いた新作ペインティング、2008年制作の大作《River Bank》を展示します。 指田菜穂子は、ある年に起きたあらゆる事象を画面に網羅することでその時代を表現する「日本文学大全集」のシリーズから、夏目漱石著『それから』を題材にした新作《日本文学大全集 明治四十二年の女 三千代》を発表します。 曽谷朝絵は、トーキョーアーツアンドスペース（TOKAS）の助成でバーゼルにて滞在制作を行い、6月末には現地で“バーゼルの光”をテーマにした個展を開催しました。今回のグループ展では、近年取り組んでいるシリーズ「虹」のペインティングを数点展示します。 舟越桂は、7月7日から金沢21世紀美術館で開催されているグループ展「起点としての80年代」に参加しています（-10月21日/高松市美術館、静岡市美術館に巡回）。今回のグループ展では、現在構想中の彫刻の題材である人間とオカピのキメラを描いた新作ドローイングを数点発表します。 町田久美は、昨年制作したペインティング《丘》をはじめ、今年5月にデンマークで滞在制作した新作リトグラフ2点を展示します。三沢厚彦は、6月30日から個展「三沢厚彦 ANIMALS IN YOKOSUKA」（横須賀美術館）と自身が参加するグループ展「坊っちゃん」展（愛媛県美術館）が同時に始まりました（共に9月2日まで）。また、10月-12月には富山県美術館で個展を開催予定、現在は「道後オンセナート 2018」（道後温泉及びその他周辺エリア、-2019年2月28日）に参加しています。今回のグループ展では、新作ペインティングを発表します。 デイヴィッド・ホックニーは、iPadでヨセミテの雄大な風景を描いたシリーズ“The Yosemite Suite”から数点、ホルスト・アンテスは、窓も扉もない閉じられた空間として家を描いた1980年代制作のシリーズ「ナヴァホの家」からペインティングを展示します。

Nishimura Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition “Summer Show 2018” from Tuesday July 10th to Saturday September 8th by the 9 artists; Chieko OSHIE, Takanobu KOBAYASHI, Nahoko SASHIDA, Asae SOYA, Katsura FUNAKOSHI, Kumi MACHIDA, Atsuhiko MISAWA, David HOCKNEY and Horst ANTES.

Chieko OSHIE will hold solo exhibition by our gallery for the first time in about a year and a half from September 25th to October 27th. This group exhibition shows her painting which was created in residency program at Minokamo City Museum (Gifu　Prefecture) in 2012. Takanobu KOBAYASHI presents his new painting of a dog, and also the big piece
“River Bank”(2008). Nahoko SASHIDA shows her new painting from Japanese Literature Series, which expresses characteristics of the age by painting every phenomena happened in one year, “And Then” written by NATSUME Soseki is the subject matter of the painting “Japanese Literature Series The Woman Michiyo in 1909”. Asae SOYA joined Basel Exchange Residency Program supported by Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS), held solo exhibition at Atelier Mondial in the end of June, which was inspired by “the light in Basel”. The group exhibition exhibits her paintings from Rainbow Series tackled in recent years. Katsura FUNAKOSHI is participating in the exhibition “Starting Points: Japanese Art of the ’80s” from July 7th held at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (-October 21st/be travelling to the Takamatsu Art Museum and the Shizuoka City Museum of Art). This time group exhibition at our gallery, he presents his several new drawings about chimera of human and okapi that are the plans for sculpture at present. Kumi MACHIDA shows a painting created last year “on the hill” and new lithographs which were made in Denmark in this May. Atsuhiko MISAWA started two exhibition at the same time from June 30th, solo exhibition “Misawa Atsuhiko: ANIMALS IN YOKOSUKA” (Yokosuka Museum of Art) and group exhibition “Botchan Exhibition” (Ehime Prefectural Museum of Art) (both of them are until September 2nd). And he will hold solo exhibition at Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design from October to December, now joining “Dogo ONSENART 2018” (Dogo Onsen and its surroundings, -February 28th 2019). This time group exhibition at our gallery, he presents his new painting. We exhibit David HOCKEY’s few works from “The Yosemite Suite” which is drawing a grand landscape of Yosemite by using iPad, and Horst ANTES’s painting of a house bare of window and door as closed space, from the series “Haus des Navaho” made in 1980s.
